Car crashes into trees, fence

Emergency services responded to a car on fire early on Sunday morning after it crashed into a fence and trees on McKenzie St, Echuca.

Police, Ambulance Victoria and Echuca CFA were on scene at about 1.30am on June 26 after reports a vehicle had crashed.

Echuca Highway Patrol Sergeant Paul Nicholl said a 26-year-old Echuca man was taken to Echuca Regional Hospital.

An Echuca CFA spokesperson said officers arrived at the scene after the car had been extinguished, and the driver was no longer in the car.

“The station wagon involved was found on the nature strip without a sign of anyone who may have been driving and was not on fire when emergency responders arrived,” the spokesperson said.

Sgt Nicholl said police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
