Numerous residents of a Murchison East caravan park have been displaced after six caravans were destroyed by fire on Thursday.

CFA District 22 commander Rohan Taylor said it took CFA and FRV crews at least an hour to bring the fire under control.

He said crews were called to reports of a structure fire on High Rd at 11am on August 18 and found six caravans fully alight.

No-one was injured in the fire and the cause is being investigated.

Mr Taylor said Victoria Police assisted in connecting the affected residents to local welfare agencies.

The fire was attended by CFA crews from Murchison, Moorilim, Arcadia, Tatura, Nagambie, Bailieston, Wahring and Rushworth, with support from CFA District 22 rehab crews.
