Cash and vehicles seized as fallout from drug busts continue

An ongoing police operation across Greater Shepparton has seen arrests and seizing of property.

An ongoing police operation targeting alleged drug traffickers across the Greater Shepparton region has borne more fruit.

Almost $300,000 in cash and eight vehicles were seized from a storage shed in Dookie on Wednesday, June 19.

Detectives from the Shepparton Crime Investigation unit snared $280,000, a Harley-Davidson, Holden Caprice, jet ski trailer, KMT motorbike, Yamaha 450, Suzuki 750, Holden Commodore and Seadoo jet ski from the property — all of which will be alleged to have been purchased with the proceeds of crime.

Eight vehicles were seized from a storage shed in Dookie and transported away.

Police will allege the items belong to a 33-year-old Shepparton man, who was arrested recently in relation to alleged commercial drug trafficking offences.

He is facing eight charges including trafficking a large commercial quantity of methamphetamines, trafficking a commercial quantity of cocaine and trafficking cannabis.

He was remanded to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in October.

Recently, police executed 13 search warrants, arrested 11 people and seized $600,000 of drugs and cash.

Among those arrested were eight Shepparton men who have since been charged with trafficking drugs, including five charged with trafficking a commercial quantity.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
