A ‘day dreamer’ has been charged with driving offences.

A driver told police he was “day dreaming” when he was caught by police doing 25km/h over the speed limit at Shepparton.

Adrian O’Sullivan, of Canberra, was charged with driving while disqualified and exceeding the 60km/h speed limit by between 25km/h and 35km/h.

His matter was heard at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in his absence.

Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Carita Thompson told the court O’Sullivan was picked up by police driving at 85km/h in a 60km/h zone on Doyles Rd at Shepparton on February 10.

He was also driving on a learner’s permit that had been cancelled in 2020.

When asked about the speeding at the time, the then 29-year-old told police he “was day dreaming”, Leading Sen Constable Thompson said.

He also told them he knew his licence was disqualified.

O’Sullivan was fined $800 and his licence was suspended for three months.
