Divers, airwing resume search for 16-year-old at Lake Mulwala

Police have resumed the search for a teenager missing on Lake Mulwala near Yarrawonga on Monday morning.

The search for the teenager was suspended at 7pm on Sunday as light faded and resumed at 8am on Monday.

Two boys were knocked into the lake on Sunday morning, with one rescued by two bystanders.

They were unable to find the second boy.

SUNDAY: Police are searching Lake Mulwala following a boating incident in Yarrawonga this morning.

Police were told two 16-year-old boys went fishing in a tinny at the lake on Silverwoods Boulevard just before 9am on Sunday, December 11.

It is believed the boys were hit by a wave and fell overboard into the water.

Two men saw the boys in trouble and swam to their aid and managed to pull one of the boys to shore.

The men returned to the area and were unable to find the second boy.

Search and Rescue officers are currently searching the lake with the assistance of Airwing, SES, and police divers.

The boy is yet to be located and the search continues.
