The driver in a fatal crash at Euroa last year appeared briefly in court on three charges after her passenger died in the single-vehicle accident.
Anouck Lison Congar, 21, of Locksley, is charged with driving in a dangerous manner causing death, careless driving and failing to have proper control of a vehicle.
The charges relate to a crash on Forlonge Memorial Rd at Euroa on March 1 last year when her 21-year-old female passenger died after the Ford Econovan driven by Ms Congar crashed into a tree.
Ms Congar appeared in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court, with a French interpreter translating the proceedings for her.
Her solicitor Thibaut Clamart asked for more time to prepare his case, as the defence had obtained an independent accident reconstruction expert to give evidence and they needed more time to do their work.
He also said he had obtained Strathbogie Shire Council records featuring the history of the road and any accidents on it, which he said would be “highly relevant” to his client’s case.
Ms Congar will next appear in court in November.
She will continue on bail, with conditions including that she doesn’t drive or leave Victoria or Australia.
