Driver of allegedly stolen car arrested after he ran out of fuel

UPDATE: A St Albans man has been charged with 29 offences after he was arrested in Nagambie on Tuesday, April 5.

The 28-year-old was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, other driving charges, drugs, theft, and weapons offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 6.

EARLIER: The driver of an allegedly stolen car has been arrested in Nagambie after an incident that started in Shepparton on Tuesday, April 5.

Police said the car was seen allegedly being driven at high speeds in Shepparton around noon.

It was also allegedly involved in a hit and run with another car in Fryers St.

The vehicle ran out of fuel on the Goulburn Valley Fwy at Nagambie.

Police said the driver fled on foot but was arrested nearby.

No-one was injured during the incident.

A St Alban’s man, 28, was being interviewed by police late Tuesday afternoon.
