Echuca Bowls Club damaged in alleged robbery

Echuca Police are appealing to the public for information after the Echuca Bowls Club was robbed early on Sunday, May 22.

Echuca Detective Senior Constable Stuart Polton said four people allegedly forced entry into the club at about 4.45am, damaging the door and inside the premises.

He said the people stole a small quantity of alcohol and cash before leaving.

In a Facebook post, Echuca Bowls Club president Trevor Rickard said there was “substantial damage” to the club, but bowls would proceed as normal.

Det Sen Const Polton said based on their current investigation, they believed the group of four walked to bowls club.

He asked for anyone in the area with CCTV cameras to check their footage at about 4.45am for any suspicious activity.
