Police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty will be honoured at ceremonies throughout Australia on Friday, September 27, including one in Shepparton.
The services will honour and remember the 175 officers killed since Victoria Police was established in 1853.
The 14 police, protective services officers, police custody officers and Victorian public service employees who died through illness or other circumstances in the past year will be included in the commemorations.
The Shepparton service will be held at 10am on Friday at Monash Park, on the corner of Welsford and Fryers Sts.
The service will include a wreath-laying ceremony.
Police officers and their families will attend Friday’s service, but members of the public are also invited to attend.
