A man died in a two-vehicle crash on a main Goulburn Valley road on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened on the Goulburn Valley Hwy at Congupna about 6.30am, August 21.
Police said one of the drivers, a man in his 70s, died at the scene.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the other driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition.
The crash happened on a straight stretch of the road, with both vehicles travelling south, according to police.
It is believed a ute, driven by the younger man, slowed down to turn right, when it and a car travelling behind it collided, police said.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing, police said.
