Fatal road accident in Mooroopna North

Two people died in a crash in Mooroopna North on Saturday, August 24.

Police said a Holden station wagon collided with a pole when travelling south on Ardmona Rd, Mooroopna North, just after 6pm on Saturday.

The driver, a 46-year-old man from Greater Shepparton, died at the scene.

The front seat passenger, a 37-year-old man from the Greater Morwell area, also died at the scene.

The back seat passenger, a 34-year-old man from the Greater Morwell area, was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries.

Up to seven emergency services vehicles responded to the single-vehicle crash.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
