Fourth person charged over alleged Murchison boat theft and drug operation

A NSW woman has been extradited to face charges in Victoria relating to allegedly stolen property and drugs uncovered at a Murchison property in April this year.

According to Victoria Police, detectives seized 103kg of dried cannabis, two firearms, methamphetamine, a truck, bobcat, two motorbikes and an industrial generator.

Two allegedly stolen Bar Crusher boats and trailers, computers, phones and Samurai swords have also been seized as part of the investigation.

The 30-year-old Brunswick Heads woman is the fourth person to be charged in relation to the alleged boat theft and drug operation.

She was arrested on Wednesday, August 17 and Victoria Police detectives successfully applied to have her extradited at Ballina Local Court later the same day.

The woman was expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on August 19.

A 52-year-old Murchison man was charged in April and bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in August.

A Brunswick man, 73, and a Murchison man, 38, were arrested in July and bailed to appear in court in October.

The investigation is ongoing and police expect to make further arrests.
