House fire in Shepparton deemed suspicious

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in Shepparton on September 23.

Fire Rescue Victoria was called to the Hassett St house at 8.04pm on Monday after several calls were made to 000.

FRV and CFA crews tackled the fire.

An FRV spokesperson said firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house to search for a missing occupant, who was later found by police.

Police said no-one was injured in the incident.

Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene. Power and gas companies were requested to attend.

The incident was deemed under control at 8.29pm.

A 38-year-old woman is assisting police with their inquiries.
