A man was flown to Melbourne in a critical condition after a two-vehicle crash in Girgarre on Sunday, June 26.

Emergency services responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of McEwen and Winter Rds about 4.15pm.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said two men were treated by paramedics at the scene.

One man was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition, and the other was transferred to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition, the spokesperson said.

Echuca Highway Patrol Sergeant Paul Nicholl confirmed a 67-year-old Strathallan man was flown to Melbourne with life-threatening injuries, and a Kyabram man, 68, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health.

He said police were investigating the cause of the crash, but said one of the vehicles had failed to give way.
