A man has been charged after an alleged firearms incident in Shepparton East on Wednesday, March 2.

Shepparton Detective Senior Constable Nathan Berryman said police were called to the incident about 3.30pm.

About 6.30pm, a 23-year-old Shepparton man attended Shepparton Police Station in relation to the incident, Det Sen Constable Berryman said.

Police executed a search warrant at the man’s Swallow St house at 11pm, Det Sen Constable Berryman said.

He said they allegedly located a firearm and a quantity of cocaine and cannabis.

Police are also investigating a related road rage incident, allegedly between a black Ford vehicle and a white SUV prior to the firearms incident.

On Friday, March 4, police conducted a searched in Victoria Park Lake for a weapon related to the incidents.

The man was charged with possessing a firearm and drug-related offences.

He was bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in August.
