A driver charged over the alleged hit-and-run death of a Benalla teenager will have his case heard in the County Court.

Dylan Norman, of Benalla, is charged with dangerous driving causing death, driving while disqualified, failing to stop at an accident where there was a death and destroying things to prevent them being used as evidence.

It is alleged Mr Norman was driving a Mitsubishi four-wheel drive at about 9.20pm on August 4 last year when the vehicle allegedly struck 16-year-old Caleb Puttyfoot, of Benalla, who was walking across Bridge St West.

The teenager died in hospital nine days later, on August 13, 2023.

Mr Norman, who was aged 23 at the time of the crash, faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 12, where his matter was committed to the Shepparton County Court to be heard in September.
