Men charged after alleged Shepparton hit-and-run

Two men have been charged by police after an alleged assault and hit-and-run in Shepparton on Saturday, February 5.

A woman, 30, remains in hospital with critical injuries after she was struck by a car on Olympic Ave about 12.15am.

A man, 40, who was allegedly assaulted was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

The silver Holden Commodore allegedly involved in the incident was located by police near Wunghnu on Monday.

A Moama man, 33, has been charged with 12 offences including reckless conduct, endangering life, dangerous driving causing serious injury, affray, assault with a weapon and intentionally causing serious injury.

A Echuca man, 33, has been charged with affray, intentionally causing serious injury and assault with a weapon.

The Echuca man has been released on bail while the Moama man was remanded in custody. Both men will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in June.
