A man has been fined $3500 for driving while disqualified and breaching a good behaviour bond.

Martin Buttenshaw, 45, of Mooroopna, pleaded guilty at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to the two charges, after police observed him driving in the early hours of March 11, 2020, in Mooroopna.

The court heard when Buttenshaw was approached by police he denied driving the vehicle; however, police obtained CCTV footage and as a result impounded the car.

Defence solicitor Nikhil Sood said Buttenshaw instructed it was an error in judgment and he was remorseful.

Buttenshaw had received a good behaviour bond in May 2019 for drug driving, speeding, unlicensed driving and driving while disqualified.

Magistrate Peter Dunn convicted Buttenshaw and fined him $1000 for driving while disqualified and $2500 for breaching the good behaviour bond.
