A man is in hospital after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a tree this morning in Tatura.

Police said the crash occurred at the corner of Kerferd and Albert Sts at about 10.05am on Wednesday, September 11.

Police believe the 63-year-old male rider, who was the only person involved in the crash, was travelling north on Albert St when he crashed his motorbike into a tree.

He has been airlifted to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
