Motorbike rider to face court over alleged burnout

Costly: A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was impounded after it was allegedly used to do a burnout in Dookie.

A motorbike rider left a 135m skid mark in Dookie’s main street while allegedly doing a burnout on Sunday, April 7.

Dookie police Leading Senior Constable Simon Hutchings said he saw a lot of smoke in Mary St as he approached from a side street at about 2pm.

He alleged the rider of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle did a burnout on the main street, causing the smoke.

The motorbike was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1075.

A 26-year-old man from the Cairns suburb of Smithfield, who is a former Shepparton resident, will be charged on summons with improper use of a vehicle and causing unnecessary noise and smoke.

He will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
