A 34-year-old Kyabram man and a 38-year-old Tatura woman are among four people in police custody after a series of incidents on Wednesday, August 28.

A man in his mid-40s found three unknown people inside a shed at his Hanrahan Lane, Fosterville property around 11.30am.

The people fled the property in a grey Toyota Prado, which had allegedly been stolen from Echuca earlier that day.

The property owner followed the Prado in his black Amarok utility along Goornong-Fosterville Rd before the two vehicles collided.

Police believe the occupants exited the Prado and assaulted the driver of the other vehicle before taking off in his Amarok.

The man sustained minor injuries.

Police believe a fourth person picked the three people up in an unregistered white Holden Cruze and drove to Waranga Basin.

Police, including the Air Wing, swarmed the area.

According to police, the Holden Cruze rammed a marked highway patrol vehicle in an attempt to escape before officers intervened and arrested all four occupants.

No highway patrol officers were injured in the collision.

The Amarok was recovered near Corop.

A 34-year-old Kyabram man, 33-year-old Kangaroo Flat man, 27-year-old Cranbourne woman and 38-year-old Tatura woman are all in police custody.
