Police release description of man, car, wanted over golf club armed robbery

Police have released a description of a man who is wanted after allegedly holding up Mooroopna Golf Club at knifepoint last week.

Armed Crime Squad investigators have been told a lone man, carrying a backpack and allegedly armed with a large kitchen knife, entered the Fairway Dve premises about 10.50pm on Thursday, January 6.

Once inside, the man allegedly confronted members of staff and made multiple demands for cash, leaving after he was given money, police said.

No staff members were physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as aged approximately in his 20s, with a tanned complexion, wearing a dark coloured hoodie and with a distinctive tattoo on his left hand.

It is believed he left the scene in a silver sedan, police said.

The vehicle travelled east on Midland Hwy, before continuing onto High St in Shepparton.

Police are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Fairway Dve, Midland Hwy or High St, Shepparton, about 10.50pm on January 6 to check dashcam footage.
