A man who was driving without a licence has been fined in court.
Asil Batkonan, 34, of Kialla, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to disqualified driving.
Batkonan was stopped while driving a white Toyota Camry on Archer St in Shepparton on September 12, 2023.
When asked to present his licence, authorities found that he had been disqualified from driving for 12 months on February 23, 2023.
Batkonan’s car was not impounded.
Representing himself in court, Batkonan said he had been driving to “go and help” someone.
Magistrate Peter Mithen fined Batkonan $600 for disqualified driving and warned him that if he came back to court a third time for disqualified driving, he risked going to jail.
