Several injured in Shepparton collision involving teen driver

Several people were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Shepparton on Monday night.

Police were told a white Kia Sportage and a yellow MG sedan collided on Benalla Rd, near Shepparton Marketplace, around 9pm on December 16.

A 43-year-old Kialla woman was extracted from the yellow sedan.

She sustained upper body injuries and was transported to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance in a serious condition.

The 14-year-old male driver of the white Kia Sportage was also taken to GV Health, in a stable condition, with non-life-threatening upper and lower body injuries.

His 13-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital in a stable condition.

Police said both teenagers were under hospital guard and would be interviewed at a later date.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances.
