Police suspect three burglaries on businesses in the Shepparton area this month are linked.
Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating thefts at Harvey Norman in Kialla and Big W and JB Hi-Fi in Shepparton.
In the first incident, an unknown man gained access to Harvey Norman on the Goulburn Valley Hwy in Kialla by smashing a front window about 5.10am on December 2.
Officers believe he attempted to access the electronics area but was unsuccessful.
The next day, it is believed the same man forced entry into Big W on Benalla Rd about 1.40am.
Police said the man, armed with a small axe, smashed a glass display inside the business.
Investigators believe he stole mobile phones and tablets worth about $5000, before fleeing the scene.

The man, again armed with an axe, smashed a cabinet inside the store before stealing a number of electronic headphones and fleeing the scene, police said.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with short brown curly hair.
During the first incident, the man was wearing a high visibility jacket, a face mask and glasses.
In the second incident, the man was wearing a beige hat, a long sleeved dark blue shirt, a black short-sleeved T-shirt, black pants and a face mask.
In the third incident, the man was wearing a black cap, a dark green jacket, blue jeans and a yellow face mask.
