Shepparton drug raids: 10 arrested, large quantities of drugs seized

Houses and storage sheds in Shepparton were searched and 10 people arrested as part of a major drug investigation this week.

Police searched five homes and three storage sheds on Wednesday, June 12, and another two homes on Thursday, June 13.

Police said a substantial amount of cash and drugs were seized during the searches, while a gun and a substantial amount of allegedly stolen property were also discovered.

Four Shepparton men, aged 34, 23, 36, and 27, were charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs after Wednesday’s raids.

They are all also facing numerous other charges, with one of the 23-year-old’s for being a prohibited person possessing a hand gun.

A 56-year-old Shepparton man was also charged with drug trafficking.

According to police, he was already on bail on a charge of trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs.

All five men have been remanded in custody to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.

A 25-year-old Shepparton man has also been charged with drug trafficking and was released on bail.

A 19-year-old Shepparton man was arrested and spoken to by police, but released.

From Thursday’s raids on two Shepparton houses, a 19-year-old Shepparton man was charged with drug trafficking and a 31-year-old Shepparton man charged with cultivating cannabis.

Both men have been bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

A 27-year-old Shepparton man was also arrested on Thursday as part of the drug operation, but not from the searches.

He was released pending further police inquiries.
