Suspicious house fire in Shepparton

Police are investigating a Shepparton house fire at the weekend, which is being treated as suspicious.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a Triple Zero call reporting a house fire at 2.55pm on Saturday, August 24, at Callister St, Shepparton.

FRV said firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the house.

Crews from both FRV and the CFA attended.

The incident was quickly deemed ‘under control’.

Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Mick Guppy said an arson chemist attended the scene and the fire was being treated as suspicious.
