Teen allegedly bashed in pub toilets

A 17-year-old was allegedly assaulted in the toilets at the Aussie Hotel in Shepparton on Saturday, October 1.

First Constable Kishen Napier said the boy was in a cubicle in the men’s toilets when a man kicked and bashed on the cubicle door around 8.30pm.

The man kicked his way into the toilet cubicle, where he allegedly kicked the victim in the head three times and punched him in the face, First Constable Napier said.

The man then allegedly demanded the teenager’s phone, before smashing it on the ground.

The toilet door was broken during the incident.

The victim received significant bruising to his face and had a delayed concussion.

Police are looking for the man allegedly involved.

He is described as Caucasian, about 180cm, with short blondish hair and a muscular build.

The man is believed to be aged in his 20s and has distinctive tattoos on his arms and legs.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts, which appeared to be gym gear, First Constable Napier said.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the alleged assault or anyone who saw the man at the pub.
