Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit arrested a 17-year-old Shepparton boy at a Shepparton house on Thursday, November 28.

Police said two males allegedly forced entry into the residence above the Royal Mail Hotel in McLennan St at about 4.15am on Sunday, November 24.

The pair allegedly demanded money before assaulting the man who lived there and fleeing the scene.

While there, it is believed a key to the pub was stolen, police said.

The 53-year-old alleged victim was taken first to Goulburn Valley Health before being transferred to Melbourne’s The Alfred Hospital later that day.

He has since been released from hospital.

A 17-year-old Shepparton boy has been charged with home invasion, intentionally causing injury, and theft, and has been bailed to appear in a children’s court in February.

He is the second person arrested over the alleged incident.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Mooroopna man during a search at his home on Monday, November 25.

He was charged with home invasion, intentionally causing injury, and theft, and was bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in February.
