‘Thousands’ of cannabis plants seized in Toolamba

Police seized “thousands” of cannabis plants at an address on Waugh Rd, Toolamba, on Wednesday, February 9.

Shepparton police Senior Constable Sarah Roberts said officers from Shepparton’s Divisional Tasking Unit executed a search warrant at the address about 9am.

She said they found “thousands” of cannabis plants at the property, which had now been established as a crime scene.

Sen Constable Roberts said it would remain a crime scene over the coming days as police processed the scene.

Police arrested five men — four from Melbourne and one from Toolamba — in relation to the matter.

They are currently in custody and assisting police with inquiries, Sen Constable Roberts said.

Speaking soon after their arrests, Sen Constable Roberts said the men had not been charged.

She said the search was conducted as part of an ongoing operation by the Shepparton Divisional Tasking Unit.
