Man arrested after tradie’s tools allegedly stolen

Thousands of dollars worth of tools were allegedly stolen from a tradie’s ute in Shepparton.

Police said a man allegedly broke into tool boxes attached to a ute and stole about $11,000 worth of tools.

The ute had been parked in the driveway of a Knight St home when it was allegedly broken into at about 3am on Tuesday, December 3.

A 20-year-old Mooroopna man was arrested overnight on Tuesday, and on Wednesday morning was being interviewed over the incident.

He has been charged with theft from a vehicle, possessing cannabis, possessing GHB, possessing prescription medication without a prescription, and possessing fireworks.

The man has been bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court next year.
