Three men charged after raid allegedly uncovers stolen vehicles, firearms and drugs in Mooroopna

The Shepparton Divisional Response Unit has charged three men after allegedly locating a stolen Holden Commodore, a bus and two loaded firearms.

The Shepparton Divisional Response Unit has charged three men after allegedly locating a stolen Holden Commodore, a bus and two loaded firearms during a search warrant in Mooroopna.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives assisted with executing the search warrant at a property on Ferguson Rd about 11.40am on Tuesday, June 4.

Police say an allegedly stolen Holden Commodore, bus, excavator and trailer were seized along with methamphetamine, cocaine and more than $1000 in cash.

Investigators allege the Commodore was stolen from a Tatura property on Saturday, June 1.

A further search was conducted under the Firearm Prohibition Order, and police allege a loaded shotgun and a .22 rifle were located and seized from the property.

A 37-year-old Mooroopna man was charged with being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, possession of cartridge ammunition, and handling stolen goods.

He will appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on December 20.

A 28-year-old Murchison man was charged with theft of motor vehicle and driving while suspended and will appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on October 7.

A 32-year-old Mooroopna man was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, theft of a motor vehicle, handling stolen goods and assaulting police.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
