A person died after a car crashed into a tree and caught fire on a rural Goulburn Valley road on Friday, June 14.
Emergency services responded to reports a car had crashed into a tree on Ryan Rd at Merrigum about 1.40pm.
Police said the vehicle caught fire after the crash and firefighters were needed to extinguish the blaze.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and police investigations remain ongoing.
