Two charged after crime spree, pursuit

A Kyabram man is one of two people to be charged after an alleged crime spree across Victoria.

The 34-year-old man was arrested at Rochester on Wednesday, August 28, along with a a 33-year-old Kangaroo Flat man, a 38-year-old Tatura woman and a 27-year-old Cranbourne woman.

The men from Kyabram and Kangaroo Flat have each been charged with burglary, theft, theft of a motor vehicle, assault and possessing a firearm-related item.

They were expected to appear before Bendigo Magistrates’ Court in the afternoon on Thursday, August 29.

Police allege the pair stole a Toyota Prado in Echuca, before attempting a burglary and carrying out an assault at Fosterville and ramming a highway patrol vehicle at Rochester.

A property owner allegedly received minor injuries.

The police Air Wing was involved in the pursuit.

No police officers were injured in the alleged ramming of the police vehicle.

The women were released on Thursday, August 29.

Investigations are ongoing.
