Two charged following police car rammings in Shepparton

Two people, a man and a teenage boy, have been charged following the ramming of two police cars in Shepparton on Thursday, January 12.

The charges follow a number of incidents in Shepparton including where a police car was rammed at Victoria St after a car drove away from officers trying to intercept it.

In a second incident, a police car was rammed in the driveway of a home on Colliver Rd after police observed an allegedly stolen yellow Mini Coupe in the vicinity.

Victoria Police said a 17-year-old Shepparton boy had been charged with damage to an emergency service vehicle by reckless driving, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving while pursued by police and drug driving.

He has been remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A 31-year-old Shepparton man has been charged with a total of 32 charges, including three counts of aggravated reckless exposure of a police officer to risk by driving, damage to an emergency service vehicle by reckless driving and dangerous driving while pursued by police.

He has been remanded to appear before Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on April 18.
