Two utes collided at an intersection at Byrneside on Wednesday, in what was a horror day of crashes in the region.

Police said a ute driven by a Zeerust man, 47, was travelling west on the Midland Hwy and turning right into Brewer Rd, when it and another ute — driven by an Katunga man, 18 — travelling east on the Midland Hwy, collided.

Police said the Zeerust man received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance for assessment.

The Katunga man was not injured.

Police are investigating the crash, which occurred about 6.10pm, and any witnesses are asked to phone Senior Constable Matt Cook at Tatura police on 5824 3099.

It was one of three crashes in the Goulburn Valley on Wednesday, with a Kialla woman, 44, dying in an accident between her car and a truck that morning.

Two people were lucky to escape injury in a crash between a truck and a ute at Pine Lodge that morning.
