An elderly woman was hit by a car as she crossed a Shepparton street on Friday, June 17.

Police said the 80-year-old Shepparton woman was walking across Archer St about 8.15am when a car turning from the car park next to Gino’s Pizza hit her.

A 27-year-old Shepparton man driving the car allegedly turned right out of the car park against a ‘no right turn’ sign, Shepparton police Sergeant Andrew Ghidetti said.

The woman was taken to hospital with bruising to the head and soreness in her shoulder and leg.

Sgt Ghidetti said the collision was a low-impact one.
