A woman who did not stop after hitting a car in a Mooroopna car park has been fined $500.

Amy Burnett, 26, of Ardmona, was charged with failing to report a collision to police when the owner is not present and unlicensed driving.

Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Fiona Kennedy told Shepparton Magistrates’ Court Burnett’s car was seen by a witness colliding with a Volvo car in the car park in Morrell St, Mooroopna, on May 27 last year.

Burnett drove off after the collision without stopping.

When she was interviewed by police, Burnett told them she did not stop after she had “reversed out and hit a car” in the car park, Leading Sen Constable Kennedy said.

The court heard she told police she did not stop because she did not have a licence.

Burnett’s matter was dealt with in her absence at court.

No conviction was recorded.
