Rutherglen’s 75th annual RSL/Victoria Police Legacy Golf Day earlier this year resulted in a record $11,400 being raised which has delighted organisers.

The popular 3ball ambrose event over 18 holes and the $1,000 on offer for a hole-in-one attracted 108 people, the vast majority of whom took to the fairways.

Rutherglen RSL Sub Branch Vice President Noel Hince expressed a big thank to everyone involved in making the Sunday, March 24 event such a success.

“It was the support of golfers from all around, sponsors and the general public - their donations made the day such a success. We look forward to the 2025 event and hope to raise even more money for such a great cause, as well as a great day at our golf club,” Mr Hince said.

Sergeant Mick Savage of Rutherglen Police Station echoed Mr Hince’s comments. “Some of the money raised went towards the kids of police lost in the line of duty going to Fiji,” Sgt. Savage said.

“It was a great day for a great cause and all the support was very much appreciated.”
