The AFL will be offering community football participants the chance to share in more than $370,000 in prizes, in an initiative designed to get people back participating in football.

Every person, regardless of their gender, who registers to play, coach, umpire, volunteer or administer in community football or Auskick has the opportunity to win.

Named the Golden Rego Giveaway, there are more than 1100 prizes to be won.

AFL Game Development executive general manager Rob Auld said the Golden Rego Giveaway was a great opportunity to support the return of community football.

“The AFL is committed to doing everything we can to help community football get back on its feet, and the Golden Rego Giveaway is just one of the ways we are encouraging people of all ages and abilities to return to football in 2022,” Auld said.

“We know community sporting clubs across the country are the heartbeat of many local communities, so we’re excited to see Australians dust off their uniforms and get involved in our game, whether that be as an umpire, player, volunteer, or coach.”

Major prizes up for grabs include a new four-wheel drive and a 2022 AFL grand final package.

Cash prizes are also able to be won in each state and territory, with $7000 available to win for two participants and a cash prize up for grabs for one Auskick centre in each region.

The Golden Rego Giveaway has already started, with players, volunteers, coaches, umpires and officials who register for season 2022 by April 1 in the draw.

Winners will be drawn on Thursday, April 7, with people automatically entered in to the draw through the PlayHQ, SportsTG and OfficialsHQ platforms.
