Shepparton’s Grace Egan continued her sparkling 2022 AFLW campaign, helping Richmond clinch a finals berth with a dominant performance against GWS on Sunday afternoon.

Playing on the wing and through the midfield, Egan was prolific all day, recording 20 disposals to be the second-highest possession winner on the ground.

But it wasn’t just her ability to win the ball that was impressive, as she managed to sneak forward and kick a crucial goal, lay five tackles, take three marks and use the ball at an impressive 60 per cent efficiency.

Coming away 43-point winners over the Giants, the result catapulted Richmond into fourth spot on the ladder and ensured it would be playing finals football.

Geelong gave reigning premier Adelaide an almighty fright on Friday evening, falling by two points in a thrilling match at Unley Oval.

Midfield maestro Becky Webster was central to the Cats’ effort, collecting 16 disposals and laying three tackles as she battled against the likes of Ebony Marinoff and Anne Hatchard.

Kyabram’s Julia Crockett-Grills was lively up forward for Geelong, kicking a vital goal, recording eight disposals and taking two marks.

While Echuca’s Annabel Johnson was solid across the day, picking up 11 touches, three marks and three tackles.

Port Adelaide fell agonisingly short of a second victory for the season, losing to St Kilda by two points on Sunday.

Shepparton’s Angela Foley battled hard for the Power, recording 12 disposals and five marks.

It was a dour Sunday evening for Essendon, falling to top contender Melbourne by 41 points.

But despite the disappointing result, Mansfield’s Bonnie Toogood stood up with yet another prolific effort, picking up 15 disposals and laying four tackles as she continued her consistent campaign.

Hawthorn suffered a similar fate to the Bombers, falling to ladder-leader Brisbane by 54 points.

Mooroopna product Tamara Smith took the field for the Hawks and battled hard, finishing with seven disposals and a whopping 10 tackles.

While Carlton was outclassed by a slick Gold Coast outfit at Metricon Stadium by 27 points, with Shepparton United’s Keeley Skepper collecting 12 disposals in the Blues’ loss.
