The Australian Football Skool Shepparton Cup had an enormous volume of games across a frenetic weekend of junior football action.

More than 500 clubs participated in the event from Friday to Sunday, with Shepparton and Mooroopna sharing hosting duties.

Sunday morning would bring about the start of finals in the eldest age-level competition, the boys under-16 to under-17 division, all held at Shepparton Sports City.

First up was the La Trobe University Regional Team battling with YTSSC for a place in the semis against Sunraysia, with a berth in the decider opposite The Last Dance on the line.

YTSSC scooped the tie 2-1 and followed up by holding Sunraysia at bay 1-0 in the semi-final before falling short in its third game of the day.
