Cricket star Madison Albers has taken another step forward in her promising career.

Albers, who plays locally for Tallarook in the Seymour District Cricket Association, made her debut for Victoria in its WNCL match against Queensland on Tuesday (January 17).

The fast bowler was named in Victoria’s 13-player squad in Monday’s announcement ahead of the double-header matches against the Sunshine state in Brisbane.

Albers was one of four debutants who lined up for the Vics in the first of the back-to-back matches.

The second clash will be played on Thursday (January 19) at the Allan Border Oval.

Albers’ selection comes off the back of recent strong form at all levels.

The Carlton Cricket Club opening quick has 22 wickets across 13 matches in both one-day and Twenty20 cricket in the women’s premier league.

Albers has played at three different clubs, Eastern Hill, Puckapunyal and Seymour in the SDCA before running out with Tallarook this season in A-grade.

Albers was also a member of last year’s TV show Renegades Recruit as she battled with fellow contestants for a spot on the Melbourne Renegades’ WBBL squad.

The second match between Victoria and Queensland will be streamed live on Kayo and cricket.com.au
