The first round of midweek pennant took place on Tuesday with both A1 and B2 sides 1 playing at home, side 2 played their game at Commercial Club Albury.

It was not a good start for the season with all three sides having a loss.

A1 Corowa Civic 51 defeated by Wodonga 67

On Saturday, round 2 was played with Civic having two sides at home, and the other at Yarrawonga in very difficult conditions, very strong winds making it hard on the bowlers, Civic losing all three games.

On Sunday morning the first round of the men’s and ladies singles were played in sunny weather.

The greens were in great condition after the good rain we had on Friday.

A big thank you to Andy and Michael. There were some very tight matches, going over three hours.

In the ladies games, Marie Lewsey defeated Margaret Watson, Maree Lewis defeated Eileen Ide.

Clint Snow defeated Ken Taylor, Paul Hickey defeated John Dalgleish, Steve Rodway defeated Ray Ager, Ian Bilney defeated Ned Young, Guy Rowe defeated Graeme McIntosh, Frank Martin defeated Brian Shipcott, John White defeated Shane Rosenow.

On Wednesday morning there will be two games of Ladies singles between Maureen Hutson and Lynne Pyke, and Michele Shields and Jan Wandel-Webber.

The club mixed pairs is set down for Sunday, November 17 at 9.30am.

The entry sheet is on the noticeboard in the club house.

Entries for this event will close on November 10, grab a partner and participate in this event.

Corowa RSL Bowls

Corowa RSL social bowls Wednesday, Oaklands vs Wahgunyah.

Ovens & Murray midweek pennant.

Round one.

Corowa RSL Division A1 defeated Yarrawonga at home 61/48. The competition was very strong, RSL on grass greens were the winners.

Corowa RSL Division A3 lost to Rutherglen at Rutherglen 52/62.

Corowa RSL Division B2 defeated Tungamah at home 58/47.

Wednesday Social Bowls this week, play commences at 10am, names on the time sheet by 9am.

Weekend pennant.

Round two.

Division A1, after a loss last weekend against Rutherglen Corowa RSL had a very impressive win against Wodonga.

Three rink wins and one loss. Result 91/55.

Division A4 travelled to Benalla and had a good win 90/65.

Two rink wins and a loss and a drawn match.

A4 have had two weekly wins consecutively.

Division B2 travelled to St James and on difficult greens had a great win, all rinks were winners.

Division B3 lost to North Albury.

Minor men's singles quarter final.

Alan Holmquest defeated Scott Widdison 21/19.

Keith Mills defeated Wally Langton 21/2.

Andrew Hirst defeated Greg Keyte 21/6.

Adam Larkins defeated Liam Larkins 21/5.

Semi finals to be played as soon as can be arranged.

October 20 - Judy Black and Susie Swift defeated Maree Jones and Laurie Way 13/12.
