Barooga eyes off strong finish to 2023 campaign

Barooga will be eyeing off a strong finish to the 2023 season this weekend.

The Hawks face an away trip to take on struggling Rumbalara in round 20 of Murray Football Netball League action.

Although finals are out of the picture for Luke Jarjoura and his outfit, the Hawks get the perfect opportunity to claim their eighth win of the campiagn and end the year on a high.

The Hawks were unable to get past a fierce Congupna at the weekend and suffered a 94-point loss at home.

Sonny Rowe was the standout for hosts with one goal as teammates Angus Cameron, Riley Gow and Brodey Rudd provided strong support.

Meanwhile, Saturday was a celebration of player milestones on the netball courts.

Emerging talent Savannah Zoch reached her 100th appearance for the club

The teenager has been featuring for the Hawks’ 17-and-under outfit and is a member of the A-grade line-up.

Also, Steph Trengove enjoyed a milestone of her own.

The B-grade midcourter took to the court for her 50th club appearance.

Barooga’s C-grade outfit are well placed for a deep run in finals.

The Hawks sit third on the ladder ahead of the trip to Mercury Drive, while the C-Reserve side is fourth and has sewn up a finals appearance.
