Community spirit was on show at Benalla Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Monday, September 30 when the installation of in-ground sleeves and net posts on all 22 grass courts was completed.
This is a major achievement for the club, both in terms of player safety and the ease with which the curator can remove net posts for mowing and lining courts.
The club thanked Laurie Defazio of Defazio Concreting and Paving for arranging the concrete.
Members also thanked Ross McMahon for digging the post holes, Andrew and Mark Marriott for making up the post sleeves and steel posts, and Peter Jewell and David O’Donoghue for planning and co-ordinating the much-needed project.
If anyone is interested or requires further information about playing Wednesday mixed social tennis starting on Wednesday, October 16 or juniors and community tennis beginning on Thursday, October 10, at 9.30am, please contact Mark McDonald on 0448 805 432.
