Deniliquin proved far too strong for local rival Deniliquin RSL to claim the division five weekend pennant championship.

The rink between Deni’s Colin Knuckey and RSL’s Lindsay Dalzell proved a reasonable contest, with Dalzell’s quartet getting the better of it 25-15, but it was a much different story in the other rink.

In a title-winning show of dominance, Deniliquin skip Lloyd Ritchie’s squad blew the competition out of the water 50-5, resulting in a 65-30 final score and a dominant win for Deni.

Deniliquin had narrowly been the best side all year, earning the minor premiership on tiebreakers, while RSL came from third, scoring an upset in the preliminary final over Moama to earn its place on the final day.
