ClubMulwala retains the crown

Deb Harbrow and Dan Young, regular players at Club Mulwala Snooker Club who also work together helping older people.

ClubMulwala Snooker Club retained the annual ClubMulwala / Albury Commercial Club challenge on Sunday, August 11.

In an event consisting of singles, doubles and a couple of billiards contests, Club Mulwala reigned supreme to locate the perpetual trophy in the clubrooms for another year.

Another highlight for attendees was a series of high-quality exhibition frames played by Adrian Ridley and Sean Dallatz, who finished runner up in the subsequent Australian National championship event.

Worth noting that Adrian finished top 8 in this event too.

All in all, a great day was had and the snooker club are most grateful to ClubMulwala for its sponsorship of the day and Albury Commercial Club for hosting the event.

Spring Triples event is now well and truly underway. Multiple winners to date are the combinations of Jake Thompson/Luca Macheda/Mia Macheda, Heie Hansen/Deb Harbrow/Daryl McKernan and Darren Edwards/Kev Young/Ben Dundee.

This event is a marathon, so the club look forward to the concluding rounds to determine finalists in early October.

Social evenings have seen Nev Page fall in over Darren Edwards on 14/8, Michael Barclay defeating Mia Macheda after a blackball re-spot on 21/8 and games won leader Kevin Young adding another one to his total in defeating Marty Dermietzel on 28/8.
