Cobram cricket knocks Finley out of the park

It was all smiles as Cobram beat Finley on its home turf of round 14 of Murray Valley Cricket Association at the weekend.

The second day of the two-day game had Finley finish 9-72 against Cobram’s 7-372.

In the first innings, Cobram’s Adam De Cicco proved to be a batting powerhouse, making 121 runs not out.

De Cicco’s performance made him his side’s best batter.

However, Cobram’s batters were making runs like no tomorrow, with Manuele Artavilla making 55 runs before retiring not out.

Chase Hardwidge made 50 not out and Shaun Downie made 50 runs before falling to the combined skills of fielder Archibald Mason and Justin Crowley.

Meanwhile, Cobram’s bowlers also got into the action, with Downie taking four wickets and Lachlan Hyde taking three wickets, making them the top bowlers of the first innings.

Finley’s best batter was Cougar McGrath, making 22 runs before falling to the combined skills of fielder Noah Sneddon and Hyde.

Finley’s best bowlers in the first innings were Mason and Crowley, who each got two wickets.
