One of the Goulburn Valley’s most talented football exports will return to the region on Thursday.
Steele Sidebottom will conduct a free junior football clinic at the place where his remarkable football journey began.
The Collingwood gun will descend on Congupna Football Netball Club for the free clinic.
Sidebottom, an AFL premiership player and 282-game stalwart, will help facilitate a skills and drills clinic at the club prior to Thursday night training.
The clinic is powered by Red Energy and is part of its ‘Born and Bred’ program, which sees AFL stars return to their hometown club.
Red Energy will contribute $1000 to Congupna to help support its junior development program.
“Congupna footy club played a big role in my football journey, so I’m really looking forward to this clinic,” Sidebottom said.
“It’s great to see Red Energy take such an interest in an initiative like this to help grow junior player development programs.”
Held at the Congupna Recreation Reserve, the clinic will commence at 4.35pm.
Sidebottom will also participate in a Q&A session, which will include giveaways and an opportunity to interact with the Pies midfielder.
Congupna will host a barbecue and Sidebottom will sign autographs.
